Empower people with us
We are recruiting a number of voluntary Trustees to join our Board.
Deadline for applications 2nd December 2022
We are a learning disability day service, supporting local LD adults to find their place in the world. We have exciting plans for the coming years. Our search for new premises will allow us to expand the organisation. The diversification of our income streams through our social enterprise project will make us more financially resilient.
We support adults with learning disabilities by providing a range of activities and workshops that are designed to develop students’ self-confidence, life skills and independence. We operate across three sites in north Norwich and have an excellent reputation for providing exemplary services. We support our students through five core subjects: horticulture, cookery, art/design/photography, music and domestic life skills.
Trustees play an integral leadership role in our charity. Our students deserve leaders who will excel at what they do. Whether you’re an experienced Trustee or wanting to take your first step at Board level, we want to hear from you!
Our new Trustees will have skills in one or more of the following areas:
Finance
Social enterprise
Human Resources
Learning Disability (personal or professional)
Third sector
Communications & Marketing
Digital
As a Trustee you will have:
Induction training and reimbursement of any expenses incurred as part of your role
Opportunities to make strategic decisions and develop new skills
Opportunities to network with other professionals
Influence to shape innovative projects and services
The chance to improve health and wellbeing services for adults with learning disabilities
The expected time commitment is six Trustee meetings per year (meetings are held in Norwich, in the evening), plus invitations to support our ad-hoc open days.
If interested, we’d invite you to email us with a short expression of interest.
